Carly Cummins is a student at the University of Texas at Austin and an Editorial Intern for CollegeFashionista.
As an Editorial Intern for CollegeFashionista, my job is to edit blogs written by the Style Gurus I’m assigned to. I check to make sure they follow the CF post format, style guide and tag guide, and I read for overall clarity. I love reading the blogs because I always find a new trend to try out and I discover a lot of great, new places to shop online!
My favorite fashion publication is… Vogue. Specifically the international versions like Vogue Italia and Vogue Paris. They tend to push the envelope a bit more with their editorials, and I love that they usually put models on the cover rather than celebrities.
My go-to beauty trend is… Cat-eye eyeliner and a pretty red lipstick. I’ve been wearing my eyeliner this way since high school and still love it! I have also recently become a regular lipstick wearer. It’s amazing what this simple, classic combination can do for your look. It’s also great if you don’t have much time to get ready in the morning!
The best writing advice I can give is… Write and rewrite. You’re never going to get it perfect the first time. It’s better to just write whatever comes to mind, take a break and come back to it.
One trend I’m dying to try is… Baroque! I just have this undying love for all things European and a lot of trends this fall work so well together. I have my eye on a few Baroque dresses from ASOS right now.
My favorite beverage is… Coffee. I probably consume it in unhealthy amounts, but I seriously couldn’t have gotten through this semester without it!
