CF Editor: Emma Nicholson
CollegeFashionista: What school do you attend?
Emma Nicholson: Western University.
CF: How would you describe your personal style?
EN: My style is feminine and classic; I love a timeless look. For the most part I dress in variations of cream and black, although I’ve been adding in a few pops of colour lately. Learning the shapes that work best with your body type is important. I know I look best in straight lines so I steer clear of poufy skirts and dresses.
CF: If you could have dinner with anyone in the fashion industry (dead or alive), who would it be and my why?
EN: I am inspired by influential women in Canadian fashion. Bonnie Brooks is the CEO of The Bay and is a Western University alumnus. I respect her as a savvy business woman and a major influence in the fashion industry (she is also the former Editor-in-Chief of FLARE magazine). I would also love to have dinner with Noreen Flanagan, Editor-in-Chief of ELLE Canada. She has a reputation for being a genuinely nice person, shattering the common stereotypes about editors. I would love to hear both of these women’s stories one-on-one.
CF: What is your favorite part about being an editor for CollegeFashionista?
EN: I am one of those people driven crazy by the incorrect use of their/there/they’re, so editing is a perfect fit for me. Seeing improvements in posts each week and being able to provide feedback has been a great experience.
